Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Acadami , in Association with Ian care foundation organised a konkani programme for all konkani speeking children 'Aaj ami konkani ulavyam' to promote art, culture and promote the konkani language.
Children studying from 3rd standard to 9th standard of Konkani and nearby parishes were taken ona march through plantation, fields , waterstreams, jungles, and forest areas to introduce them the nature , traditional trees, water source. Cheildren eagerly took participated in the programme.
At the concluding ceremony Daijiworld media managing director Mr Walter Nandalike inagurated the newly built stage. Mr. Joachim Stany Alvares, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Acadami, Fr.Oswald Monteiro, Vicar var of Kirem Varado, Fr. Jochim Fernandes, Parish Priest of Kinnigoli parish, Rajesh Naykak, President of GSB Association Kinnigoli, Shekar Gowda, Secretary of Kudumbi Community, and Hemacharya , Managing trustee of Ian care foundation were present on the dais.
Jossie Pinto, a senior Konkani writer was felicitated for his contribution for the konkani litarature along with Alani Dsouza. Winners of various competitions were recognised. Whole days programe was compered by Heric Pais, Manoj Fernandes, Rony Crasta and Melrida Rodrigues.
Overall it was a fantastic, refreshing and memorable day for the Konkani children of the region. Nearly 180 children and 60 volunters, participated in the programme.
