Shamina Alva Receives Aryabhata Award

Mumbai : Shamina Alva of Kenchanakere has received prestigious Aryabhata award for 2014-15 in recognition of her contribution to various fields of society.
The award was presented to her at a function to be held in Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on Aug 9, in the presence of dignitaries.
Shamina Alva is the founder-president of the women’s wing of Mulki Buntara Sangha. She has served as office-bearer of various associations and organizations like secretary of the alumni/alumnae association of Vijaya College, Mulki and founder-secretary of Kinnigoli Inner Wheel Club. Presently, she is the vice president of the Madeline High School Alumni Association and member of the executive committee of the Mulki Buntara Sangha.
