Pompei College day celebrations 2014-15 was held on 19.2.15.The programme started at 10 am with a College Anthem by the college choir team. The correspondent of Pompei Institutions Rev Fr. Paul Pinto presided over the function. Dr. Carmelita Goveas, the Principal, Besant Evening College, Mangaluru, Dr. John Clarence Miranda, the Principal, Mr. Valerian Sequeira, the President, Parent Teacher Association, Mr Pradeep Bangera, President, Alumni Association, Mr.Maxim Pinto, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council of Kirem Church & member of Managing Committee, Mr. Michael Pinto, Staff Secretary and Students’ Welfare Council Coordinator Prof. Thomas G.M. were on the dais.
Staff Secretary Mr. Michael Pinto greeted everyone with a warm welcome address and the Principal Dr. John Clarence Miranda read the brief report of the College activities of 2014-15.
On this auspicious occasion there were felicitations to Dr. Freeda Flavia Dsouza, Dept. of Hindi for her Ph.D award, Ms.Ranjitha, Dept of Economics for her M.Phil.degree and Ms. Shabana, Alumnus of Pompei, for successfully completing C.A. in the first attempt and for the achievements in their career.
Dr. Carmelita Goveas addressed the gathering and congratulated the College Management, Staff and Students for the developments taken place in the college with ‘A’ Grade and spoke on the importance of this day and its tradition which binds us together.
The Endowment/NCC & General Proficiency, Cultural and Sports &Games Prizes were distributed to the students.
A cheque worth of Rs. 3 lacks was handed over to the correspondent by Mr. Pradeep Bangera, President of Alumni Association on behalf of the association which was collected through the benefit show drama for the new building project.
Rev. Fr. Paul Pinto, the Correspondent, in his presidential address stressed the goal of the institution to impart academic and value education to our students and thanked everyone those who have helped for the welfare and development of the college.
Prof. Thomas G.M. proposed the vote of thanks. Miss Lenishia of Final year B.Com ’A’ and Miss Chaithra of Final year B.B.M. compeered the programme. The morning Programme concluded with a fellowship meal and cultural programmes were held in the afternoon session.
