MAKKALA NRITYOTSAVA – 2016

On August 15th 2016- The Independence Day, ICYM Kinnigoli unit organized Makkala Nrityotsava -2016 for children of different schools of Moodbidre – Mulki constituent assembly region.
About 27 schools participated in this competition.
The program was conducted in 2 categories.
One of primary school and other high school level. The competition commenced at 2:00 pm with the primary school dances. The concept was folk dance. The children danced with zeal and enthusiasm in order with the aim of winning a prize.
It was an ample opportunity to the children of the region to exhibit their talents. There was tough competition of schools accompanied by huge crowd.
After the primary section dances as a sign of gratitude and respect on Independence Day and on the occasion of 70 years celebration of ICYM Mangalore Diocese retired Indian military soldiers were honoured. The military men who were honoured are Subedar Philip Neri D’Mello, Subedar Lawrence Dsouza, Hawaldar Charles Dsouza, Hawaldar Noel Dsouza.
After honouring program the thrilling competition of high school section began . as the crowd increased the children of different high schools gave thrilling and fantastic performances.
The competition ended with stage function headed by Rev.Fr.Vincent Monteiro , Fr.George Crasta and Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta along with parish council vice president Mr. Vincent Dsouza .
Mr.William Dsouza was the m.c of whole competition. Fr. Ashok announced the prize list. Stevan DCosta -ICYM president welcomed the gathering. Delwin Goveas –ICYM secretary lead the honoring function. Marwin Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.
